Tony’s expertise at FD Solutions is in providing practical and strategic input to growing businesses. He is happy getting his hands dirty when needed as well as providing a higher-level sounding board for members of clients’ executive teams.
Tony joined FD Solutions in late 2007 and a key appointment was as Finance Director for an AIM-quoted cloud computing IT company.
Tony has worked alongside owners and trustees to provide a part-time executive finance resource in cases where a full-time resource was not deemed necessary or appropriate. Specifically, work included creating and implementing automated management accounts reporting packages, improving budgetary controls, assisting strategic planning and reorganising finance functions. Tony qualified as a chartered accountant in 1981, and in 1991, after ten years specialising in tax and business advice in the profession, he set up his own practice to provide business and tax support to businesses and high net worth individuals. Tony sold the practice in 2003.
Within his practice, in 1996 Tony assisted in the AIM flotation of a company specialising in IT contractors and recruitment and became its part-time Finance Director, contributing to all of the company’s financial and M&A activity including negotiations on acquisitions, undertaking due diligence and preparing business plans and working capital adequacy reports.
Tony is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a liveryman in The Worshipful Society of Chartered Accountants.
