Who We Are: David Dawson

David joined FD Solutions in 2004 and has worked with a wide variety of clients in many sectors, including retail, charities, financial services, catering, professional services, software and technology.

In addition to being a commercial FD, David leads our modelling services team. The financial plans focus on the key drivers for each business and allow users to easily evaluate the impact of different assumptions.

At FD Solutions David has:

• Provided a financial services company with the internal controls necessary to achieve rapid growth.
• Assisted a software company to re-finance its MBO.

• Produced forecasts for three retail groups for raising funds and increasing existing bank facilities. These forecasts successfully supported a stock exchange circular.

David qualified at Coopers & Lybrand and has extensive experience at board level in the food manufacturing, retail and IT sectors with United Biscuits, Grand Met, Courtaulds and Actinic.

He joined Actinic in 1996, in its early stages, and helped the company grow to become the UK leader in the supply of packaged e-commerce software. During David’s tenure, Actinic raised capital from a business angel, a VC, and on the stock market when Actinic was listed on the London stock exchange.

Outside work, David is treasurer of a credit union, chairman of one charity and trustee of another.
