Colin is a Certified Accountant with over thirty years’ accounting and management experience, both as an external consultant and in business as a senior manager. He started with Grant Thornton and then moved into industry with two American multinationals before becoming FD for three GEC companies operating worldwide.
Colin has extensive experience in the financial management and control of medium and large organisations, and on major projects, such as long-term railway contracts, both in the UK and overseas. He was part of the project management team responsible for managing the construction of the Docklands Light Railway on behalf of London Regional Transport.
Colin’s wide experience includes business planning, management and information systems, and commercial and legal aspects of business activity. Commercial experience encompasses the financial and legal elements of tendering for major projects and their appraisal. He is experienced in establishing financial controls for a project, procedures for ongoing monitoring and the achievement of objectives.
Colin has established offices in various parts of the world, including joint ventures, and has handled tax and administrative issues arising from such activities.
Colin is retained by clients to assist with training, implementation and monitoring to continue their development. He has undertaken a number of trouble-shooting roles in accounting and computerisation.
Most of his work at FD Solutions has necessitated him taking temporary financial control, providing a safe pair of hands when relationships have broken down, and seeing in a new incumbent.
