Arranging funding for the growth of a marketing services business
A successful start-up business that had grown to 30 employees in two years
Brothers Ben and Mark Fairlie established Fairlie (which trades as Meridian Delta) in 1998, growing it from scratch to employ 30 staff and generate profits, despite the demanding economic climate.
Ambitious to grow further and in need of working capital
They knew that they could grow even further with external funding and sought support and financial expertise from FD Solutions.
Expertise sought from a like-minded organisation
The FD Solutions culture echoed their own: the provision of a quality service, through teamwork, and with a focus on helping clients succeed.
Strategy documented and five-year forecasts developed
Our FD worked with Ben and Mark to document their strategy for the business and create an integrated financial model that demonstrated the company’s prospects and funding requirements in a format that would attract funders.
Sources of funding assessed and £200,000 secured
As Fairlie’s FD, we connected with local funders and supported the team through the initial proposal stages, subsequent due diligence process and lending contracts. Unsecured funding of £125,000 was obtained, together with a £75,000 overdraft facility.
Next stage of growth now embarked upon
With funding secured and with one of our finance directors as FD, ensuring the right management information is available to monitor and manage the business by, Fairlie is set for the next stage of its growth.
